The Magnificent Lotus - Photoblog

A Lotus is one of the most magnificent flowers you would ever see. It has been recognized in many cultures as a strong symbol of purity, spirituality and fortune. In ancient Chinese cultures the lotus flowers are symbols of royalty and integrity. It can be seen in Chinese portraits where the king or queen is holding the flower. In ancient Egypt, where the lotus grew in the Nile River, it was considered a national symbol.

I have been fortunate to be able to capture numerous Close up lotus photos from bud and bloom to the unusual seed pods.
