Amazing Moments - PhotoblogSince travel in 2020 was next to impossible due to Covid-19, I reflected back on my trips over the years trying to find pictures of some of the most amazing moments I've experienced. The images below may not qualify as great photos but they all reflect amazing moments for me.
Iguazu waterfall in Brazil is one of the largest on the globe. Walking out on that misty boardwalk not only made you wet, it felt like a once in a lifetime experience. To keep my camera reasonably dry I kept it in a plastic bag that I just opened for some quick captures.
After a long open Jeep-ride up to the Tijuca forest in the mountainous regions of Rio de Janeiro we reached this overlook with a fabulous view. Taking in both the city view, the famous Christ statue on a mountain in the far distance and the tropical rainforest around us felt both exciting and overwhelming.
Everyone who visited Grand Canyon and looked over the rim likely had the same feeling of awe as I did.
To capture this photo I had to climb a steep sand hill. The effort was well worth it since the view from the top seemed surreal to me.
Driving back from Yellowstone Park at dusk we spotted a large caravan of riders (~65) next to the highway. It was an awesome sight and I quickly captured a few photos with my camera. Back home I then printed this image 6 feet long to hang in my studio. That sight still amazes me.
Entering the Venice water ways in a small boat many years ago I felt elated and lucky to be able to visit such an iconic and historic place. It was definitely one of my most memorable moments.
Watching the famous Rembrandt painting "The Night Watch" in the Amsterdam Rijksmuseum made a lasting impression on me. It was truly an unforgettable moment.
